When your candle burns down to about ½ inch from the bottom of the vase, it is time to clean it out.
The wax is soft enough that it can be removed without being extremely hot or cold.
Please check the vase for any cracks. If there are cracks or damage to the vase, please discard it – do not try to scrape out the wax or try to burn the rest of the candle.
You can wipe out the liquid wax right after burning. It’s always easier to clean the vase out while the wax is warm but not hot (let it cool a little just after burning).
To remove the wax while the vase is at room temperature, grip the vase firmly at the bottom and run the scraper around the wax inside to loosen it.
Running the scraper around the sides of the wax should also loosen the wax from the bottom too.
If the wax is giving you trouble, you can also cut the wax with your scraper into pieces that will make it easier to remove.
Because our candles have fragrance all the way through the wax, just put what is left in a wax melter or tart burner to get even more fragrance.
